Wow! We are so proud of everything that you have found out about Burma and the war. You brought up many important details and interesting facts. Since we now know a little about the culture of where Nick will be living, compare it to the culture of London. How do you think living in such a new culture will affect Nick? What kinds of problems might he have?
I think some of the biggest changes are different animals, climates, foods and traditions

You are right Paige . Since there is a change in food he will have to change his diet.

One of the diffrences is the wars, on is between Japan and the British and the other isn't. The other changes are that Burma is surronded by jungles, assuming by the animals they have. And London is has more cities and The Royal Family. Marley(:
ReplyDeleteone of the changes I think Nick will run into will be how he will get along and make friends with the Buremese people . He will be so lonely and feel so left out since his father is gone. He will be ending up with being with them every day.
ReplyDeleteI predict that Nick will be friends with Mya or one of the elephants.

One other problem is Nick won't be able to do his regular things like in London . He won't be able to go walk to huge stores or anything it is just a plantation . Nick will have to learn the ways of the Buramese culture , he will have to adapt to it.

Brooke, good thinking! I think that this will be a huge change for Nick. Since we are further into the book now, we are noticing the different ways that he is adapting to the new culture.

I was also thinking that Mya would be an important character in the story.

I think that a problem will be is Nick and his dad getting into fights since Nicks dad isn't seeing Nick very often.
ReplyDelete-Paige
That could lead to one other problem , lonleyness
ReplyDeleteI think he may be getting in fights with the government. Because it is scramble time for them, the Japanese are coming to envade or take over!!!
ReplyDelete-Brooke
That's true the Japanese are coming. But do you think Nick will get involved with the government problems?

Since I read through Nicks first encounter with Hannibal I don't really know what to expect from Hannibal.I think there next encounter will be a little emotional and it will bring back childhood memories.
